Back when TEC had the pilot kits there was a kit that fit the Sterling 2 grill models that had two infrared burners and a pilot kit to fit the TEC Sterling 3 with three infrared burners. The igniter module wires to the electrode to ignite the pilot which lights the infrared burner. The older TEC infrared gas BBQ grillsused a pilot to ignite the infrared burners. Sometimes the flame will just die and sometimes it can make a "whoosh" or "pop" sound but either way it ts telling you to replace your infrared burner. While you are cooking, if the tiles shift from internal gas pressure the burner will go out. The water condensates from the intense heat and is forced from the stainless housing so fast a small crack will form n the tiles. If the burner is lit while water is in the housing the ceramic tiles can crack. Extract it from the grill and leave it upside down for a few hours. If water gets into an infrared burner while it is not burning and the water gets into the housing it must be drained. Servicing infrared gas grills for many years, I have seen one problem with the infrared gas burner over and over again.
